Gang by rocknrollzchickz

Choose one of the five gangs available to start preparing for the rebellion:

      BLISTERING ROSES

Sabrina does not tolerate blockheads who are dependent and know nothing about weapons. It doesn't matter whether you are a nice guy, a sadist, or even a psycho as long as you have knowledge about weaponry. Being a know-how isn’t enough either; Blistering Roses look for members who have guts, that's the most notable trait of a Rose.

      YELLOW JACKETS

Kin doesn’t like cowards and he will provide strict training to those who are deemed worthy. If you can’t handle it, you might as well pack-up and go home. Yellow Jackets look for capable members who can survive on their own and most of all, those who possess bravery and an iron will. Cowards aren’t welcome.

      EVER BLUES

Spirit; this is what Ever Blues look for. As the gang with the most strongest members in Kaleidoscope, Azura will not accept those who fail to show their strength or hesitate to crush opponents to the bone. Also, she does not tolerate those who aren’t willing to get their hands dirty.

      TOXIC CITRUS

A sneaky yet family-centered gang. Jagger looks for people who are willing to form bonds! It’s okay to be a little shy or a loner as long as you are willing to protect your new family. Being the weakest gang, it is important for Toxic Citrus members to need each other, comfort one another, and provide the care and love for those around them...because this is the only family they might have left.

      ELUSIVE INDIGO

Brains, brains, brains. If you don't have it then you're not getting in. Being smart isn’t enough though; you need talent, creativity, and the ability to innovate. Those who waste their precious minds by slacking aren’t welcome. Zethine is very careful picking about her allies as she only chooses those who may benefit Kaleidoscope...or benefit her.

Once you have chosen a gang to serve, you may never go back on your word, lest you face death as you must pledge your undying loyalty to your leader. Each gang has their own specialties, strengths and weaknesses, one of which should fit with your character’s info and personality, so choose wisely.

Appearance by rocknrollzchickz

    • Your character is strictly human. There will be no vampires, ghosts, undead, immortals, beasts, or magical creatures of any sort because this is a sci-fi group.

    • The black/white to color ratio is ⅓. Up to one third of your character may be infected with color.

    • Character can only have a maximum of 3 color mutations. (ex. a combination of eye, skin patches and fingernails).

    • Character having the same color as their gang is highly recommended but not compulsory, since we base their gang qualifications by their stats regardless of their color.

    • Character must have only ONE color mutation on their body, they cannot have multiple colors.

    • Characters must wear black or white clothing unless his/her color mutation has stained his/her clothes.

    • Characters must fit the modern-futuristic setting.

    • Characters must have a last name, nicknames only will not be tolerated in your applications.

Age by rocknrollzchickz

Your character is a survivor of the Color Syndrome disease, those who survive the disease are only humans within 15-25 years of age; once infected, most immediately perish once they hit 26...and as such possess a short lifespan. The reason for this is currently unknown.

Se by rocknrollzchickz

Characters must be labeled with their biological sex, regardless of gender.

Weight by rocknrollzchickz

    This is self-explanatory.

Skills by rocknrollzchickz

Your character must have a minimum of 2 and a maximum of 5 skills. These skills must be related to survival, combat, or at least technical skills. No overly powered/godly skill set. Face it, we all hate Mary/Garry-sues, know your limitations well.

Stats by rocknrollzchickz

Members will start with 10 stat points which they will have to distribute to 5 stats: Attack, Defense, Intelligence, Health, Speed, and Luck:

      • Attack (ATK): Physical strength to knock down opponents.

      • Defense (DEF): Toughness which allows you to survive better.

      • Intelligence (INT): Knowledge and wisdom (supposedly allows higher exp grant during battles; battles and battle system are not available as of now).

      • Health (HP): Endurance which allows how many hits you can take.

      • Speed (SPD): Ability to move quick (supposedly higher speed gives you the advantage of always attacking first and initiating multiple-hits; battles and battle system are not available as of now).

      • Luck (LUCK)The force which seems to affect and shape a person’s life and circumstances; quite useful when gambling (supposedly higher luck increases your critical hits and evasion; battles and battle system are not available as of now).

Each Gang has a strength or weakness, please keep this in mind when distributing your stats:

    • BLISTERING ROSES:
      Highest stat: SPEED
      Lowest stat: DEFENSE
      2nd Lowest Stat (optional): INTELLIGENCE

Weapom by rocknrollzchickz

Characters may only have one weapon and buy one from the shop, which will automatically have 50% of your Base DMG. As you level you can upgrade your weapons in order to get stronger. The only way for you to get your hands on more powerful weapons is to gain exp and climb up the ranks to be deemed worthy enough to wield a stronger weapon.

Weapon criteria for each gang:

    • Toxic Citrus - Sneaky bladed weapons. They prefer small ones like spy gadgets, swiss knives, cutters, etc. Their leader loves knives.

    • Ever Blues - Any melee weapon that can crush guts and bones alike will do. Swords, bats, etc. Their leader favors anything that crushes opponents to smithereens

    • Yellow Jackets - They are military trained, meaning they are skilled in guns and also melee (the big ones) including brass knuckles. But they're not into small knives.

    • Blistering Roses - They can have anything.  They supply the Kaleidoscope weapons so they are free to choose from guns to swords, knives to bombs.

    • Elusive Indigos - They are intelligent. They have robotics and chemistry on their side. Poison bombs, fire bombs, and even laser guns. For the robots, you have to purchase a robot from the shop.

Person by rocknrollzchickz

Must include a minimum of 5 positive and negative traits. There is a limit to only 300 words. The character should not be flat (ex. character is antisocial, all traits relate to being antisocial and there are no other traits that make him special aside from being antisocial).

Hirstor by rocknrollzchickz

There is a limit to your character's background information, only 800 words will suffice. Your character may not have past connections with the Gray Order or the gangs before acquiring the Color-Syndrome disease. If you’re going to involve the gang leaders in your character’s story, please inform the mods first.

Please do take note:

    1. We do not accept overly traumatized/abused characters or overly sexual ones. A little bit of abuse and trauma is fine, but go overboard then that’s just plain bad.

    2. We discourage characters who would nonchalantly join Kaleidoscope with no concrete resolution as to why they’re joining, or what is it that made them think they’d fit perfectly in the gang. It’s like applying for a job, your employers look for potential members with passion and drive to excel in what they do.

Please avoid:

    1. Sob storyIt’d be refreshing to hear an enthusiastic applicant who’s trying to work his/her way to the top. You know, like normal people. Let's just say mods wasted so many tissue boxes reading all these apps, and we had to watch kiddie shows just to feel happy again.

    2. Parent-trauma: There are other factors in this world besides one’s parents bringing their children despair and misfortune; like one’s self, siblings, friends,  and maybe even the Gray Order.

Tirva by rocknrollzchickz

Extra information regarding your character, there will be no limit for this.

Relaiton by rocknrollzchickz

You may add your characters relationships with other gang members.

    1. You can draw your own character yourself or let someone draw it for you, we only accept full body and half body shots - Tracing is a big no-no and is equivalent to Art Theft, letting others draw your character is okay but please be sure to credit them.

    2. Traditional Art is also accepted.

    3.  Fill out all the information needed, we will not accept applications with missing parts.

Note: Don't take it personally if your application is declined. The group's main focus is roleplay and forming relations, but we also look into how much effort is put through and how well your character fits in our story.

    1. First of all, read all the journals and embed the rules onto your heart.

    2. Complete your application formwe will not accept incomplete applications. Keep in mind, we appreciate punctual members as well.

    3. Application checks must be done by posting a comment in the group's front page, not through notes.

    4. Once we have you have completed your application and when the group is open, click "Join our Group". Place the provided format in the note with the following:

            DA Username:

            Gang:

            Link to Application:

Failure to do so will result in your join request being ignored and rejected.

Appliaciton by rocknrollzchickz

    1. Originality - Uniqueness is established not only by your character’s design, but by the stories and personality that makes them who they are. This is what distinguishes your character from everybody else’s; break from the stereotype. Also having the great skill to tell us a story is always a bonus, though keep the word count in check.

    2. Clarity of Character Concept - THE CHARACTER SHOULD MAKE SENSE. Your character’s personality should be reflected in their history and vice versa. What had led them to make the choices they’ve done in the present? Remember, stay in character.

    3. Quality -  The time and effort put through both the written and visual affect your chances in getting in. We go through your galleries and compare your application to your best works. This way, we could assess if you have really put effort in making your app.

Applicant by rocknrollzchickz

    1. Limited Slots - The most common reason why some applicants don’t make it in is because the gangs they applied have many applicants. Even if you pass app checks, it doesn’t guarantee a spot within the gang.

    2. Following Instructions - Reading through the group’s resources thoroughly will help you save time not only for yourself but also the mods attending to you. Be careful asking the same questions already answered in the journals. We will be very strict with the format, especially the word count. Not being able to follow something as simple as that shows that you did not read the journals and ultimately risk your chances of acceptance.

You Copy by rocknrollzchickz

    1. We also take into account an applicant’s level of maturity, ability to follow rules, participation/activity,  and most importantly how they interact and how eager they are to connect with other people.

▌FAQ

Q: What is this group about?
A:alternative text

Q: Does my character have to have the same color of his gang?
A: It is highly recommended you try to have the same color as your gang. But we base them by stats. If your character is super smart regardless of color they automatically go to Elusive Indigo Gang

Q: What is the black/white to color ratio?
A: About 1/3 color only

Q: Does my character's weapon have to be the same color?
A: In a way, yes and no. Yes, because any object you come in contact with will receive your color mutation, which happens at random. No, because if your weapon was previously owned by another color infected individual, it can have the previous owner's color.

Q: If you taint an object with color, can others infect it too?
A: When an object receives a color infection, the object cannot be infected with any more colors as it is already tainted, so objects can have only one color.

Q: How long does a person need to wear a shirt or hold a weapon to get it infected with color?
A: He/she must have contact with the object/clothes for a minimum of 3 days. That's when the infection starts showing up

Q: How many color mutations can I have?
A: Only one, but you clothes can have another color if it was OWNED by someone else who was infected with color syndrome

Q: Do different gangs gave different weapons?
Yes, Toxic Citrus - sneaky bladed weapons. They prefer small ones like spy gadgets. Swiss knives, Cutters, their leader loves knives
Ever Blues - Any melee weapon that can crush guts will do. Swords, bats etc. Their leader favors you to crush their opponents to smitherins
Yellow Jacket - They are military trained, meaning they are skilled in guns and also melee (the big ones), including brass knuckles. But theyre not into small knives.
Blistering roses - They can have anything,  they supply the Kaleidoscope weapons. So they are free to choose from guns to swords and knives and bombs
Elusive Indigo - They are intelligent. They have robotics chemistry on their side. Poison bombs fire bombs. But for the robots you have to purchase a robot from the shop. They also have laser guns.

Q: Can we have somebody else draw our characters?
A: Yes, you can have others draw your character for the app. However, you must leave credit where it's due.

Q: Can I become a right-hand man?
A: Competition's gonna be tough, as you will have to battle and achieve the right rank to be promoted.

Q: How many characters can we have?
A: Only one character will suffice at this time.

Q: How many mutations of color can my character have?
A: Only a maximum of three is allowed, ex: eye, skin and fingernails

Q: Is it possible to have colored skin instead of black and white?
A: Not all of the skin area, when you are infected with the Color-Syndrome virus a part of your skin can be colored, only part.

Q: Is it possible to have a colored outfit?
A: No but you can only have one part of your outfit colored, depending only with the color of your mutation. Ex: Only the inside of your jacket

Q: Can my character have blue blood?
A: No, please read the journals, you only have bright pink neon blood. The bright pink neon blood is a sign of you being infected with the said virus.

Q: Can my character roam freely in Silverlight City being colorful and all?
A: No, what's the reason of hiding in the first place?

Q: Can my character enter other gang hideouts?
A: Not without permission, each gang hideout has strict security systems and infiltrating them is impossible, thanks to the technology Elusive Indigo has lent the gangs.

Q: Is there a rivalry or tension between gangs?
A: Yes, talking about other gangs is a taboo, as they are quite competitive with each other.

Q: Can my characters fight with other gang members?
A: Yes and no. You are not permitted to fight within gang territory. You can battle said gang member in the battle arena, but if it's impulsive, please take it away from the gang territories, so as not to destroy what little is left with the gang's peace treaty. They are trying very hard not to fight with each other.

Q: Can my character have guns? What about scythes?
A: No, all gang members will start of with a basic melee weapon, you must earn the rank and right to wield a gun. And you're in a futuristic city, what use would a scythe be when they have laser guns and robots?

Q: Is there magic?
A: Please, please read the journals, this is a sci-fi, futuristic themed group, there are high-tech gizmos and stuff.

Q: Do characters die?
A: Yes characters do die, do not complain when your character has died, as you will not be able to make a new one to enter, this is a survival-based group.

Q: Do we have to be active?
A: Yes, yes, yes. We have a maximum of 3 weeks inactivity and if you are not around, your character's either gonna be killed or kicked out of the group. It is unfair to the ones who applied and did not get accepted who want to contribute to the group while your just chilling there.

Q: What criteria do you use in selecting members?
A: We base it on their the clarity of their character concept, A well developed biography and info, the quality of art (the time an effort you put in it, we like members who'd put in their all), understanding of the rules, and concepts of the group and most of all a positive attitude to other members.

Q: What type of fashion is in Kaleidoscope?
A: Gang, disheveled ones of course, delinquents, with a dash of bright neon lights or your so called Cyborg-ish effects. Traditional wear such as kimonos are not allowed, as we are in a sci-fi world.

Q: Can we have masks?
A: Why not? It'll be useful for camouflaging in the city of Silverlight, we encourage others to wear masks, gas masks, surgical masks any other type of masks that sticks to the gang, sci- fi setting, or you can use eye-patches. Goggles, neon glasses, etc.

Q: I'm confused, how is Color-Syndrome spread? Is it an airborne disease?
A: I see you haven't read Ivory Blanca's report. The disease is spread through fluids. This can happen by drinking from an infected individual's cup, etc.

Q: How long were the gangs formed?
A: Two months ago from the present, but today (on April) they have formed a treaty with each other to work together to defeat the Gray Order...and they're not on good terms.

Q: How long has the Gray Order been reigning over the city of Silverlight?
A: It's already been a century (yes that long).

Q: Is it pure black and white?
A: Any shades of gray is fine, just between the shades of black and white.

Q: Can I create an NPC?
A: Sorry friend, but nope.

Q: Can we have pets or do animals exist in this world?
A: Pets no, but there are animals/livestock being kept by the grey order to produce meat. Any other animals, such as strays or street animals have been long extinct.

What if the characters were siamese twins?
